Since 1995, an endowment from the Kansas Health Foundation
and substantial commitments from Kansas State University Research
and Extension have supported the Office of Community Health,
which became the Community Health Institute in 2003.

The Community Health Institute (CHI), located in the College of Arts and Sciences at Kansas State University, creates collaborative partnerships within K-State and with external organizations as a means to further research in the areas of physical activity, nutrition and social behavior.
