Behavior Lab (HBL) conducts research and evaluates health intervention
programs targeting physical activity, diet, and positive social behavior.
Staff is experienced in community methods for the measurement
of physical activity, diet, and social environment quality
and the development of interventions to improve these outcomes.
The Community Health Behavior Lab has played a central role
in active extramural grant contracts with the following health
agencies:
- NIH
- Kansas Department of Health and Environment
- Kansas Health Foundation
- Sunflower Foundation
- Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
- United Methodist Health Ministry Fund

The Health Behavior Lab provides data collection and management services to Faculty Associate Scientists. In order to assist with data collection, the lab has a high speed optical scanner that can convert paper surveys to data in a fraction of the time that it would take to key in the data.
